The Dangers of an Out of Control Artificial Intelligence

How long will it take AI to become the Singularity
that so many experts fear?
image of a penny with 'In God We Trust' The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the modern world we live in is both exciting and frightening, all at the same time. On the one hand we can easily see the prospect of great things derived by AI implementation while on the other we see the dangers that lie in a developing machine intelligence that will essentially be allowed to move in whatever direction it may go. And herein
lies the challenge, 'how can man control that direction?'

If you follow the issues that swirl around AI, you're aware of the negative press regarding its use in the future. If you follow Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, his expose's concerning AI is anything but encouraging. In fact, it's downright shocking and yet reasonable when you sit down and consider the details.

The inherent problem lies in the fact that the computer is superior to us. They are purely logical and completely emotional. They think fast, in certain circumstances it is difficult to completely destroy. Artificial Intelligence Elon Musk If they decide that people are no longer allowed to survive by perception, they will have many options available (in particular they have access to military equipment). Here's the biggest fact and the most difficult for most people to wrap their minds around: AI will be given the ability to learn entirely on its own. This means AI will have total and unequivocal control over the direction that its programming goes. Mankind will not have a say in the ultimate programming of these AI's, and so this programming will take an infinite number of directions, and each AI will be different in the result because of the variation of experiences that each one will have.

Now, at some point, AI developers will plug all of their AI devices into a single AI-based depository on the Cloud, which will effectively combine all of these AI products experiences and conclusive outcomes into a single flow of Intelligence. The outcome of all of this self programming is an ultimate rewrite of the very language that is used. In a words, human programmers will be at a loss as to what is going on simply because they won't understand a single word of the developing AI programming code.

Are you getting any of this?

If you're not listening well to me, perhaps Elon Musk will open your mind to the dangers of an out of control AI (the language of the narrator is horrible at times, for which I apologize. But the video is worth the watch):

In Conclusion, let's hope AI developers can find a way to control the potential Frankenstein that they're creating.

Humans and Artificial Intelligence

For some time now I've pondered several issues: "Just what is reality." "What is this thing we call life on Earth?" "What is the true nature of this thing we're immersed in?"

In the Christian Bible we're told that not everyone is called by God to be part of His Kingdom. Instead, the Holy Spirit, 1/3 of the Godhead, calls a man or woman and then it's up to each of us whether we heed the call. This leads to a process that Jesus Christ called being "reborn," or "rebirth."

We're also told in the Bible that those of us who are called are listed in a book commonly referred to as the Lamb's Book of Life. According to God's Word, our names were written into this book before a single plank was laid in this world. We're also told that unless our names are in this, there is no going home to God.

So, with all of this in mind, I have to conclude that those who heed the call of the Holy Spirit by allowing Him into their hearts and minds are living, breathing beings while those who do not heed the call, especially those not listed in the Lamb's Book of Life from the beginning of this time, are not true, honest-to-goodness living beings. This would, in my mind, make them sort of an artificial intelligence (AI).

What this boils down to is that those who are not reborn are really not part of the program here and those who are in that book are. If those who are not reborn are truly AIs, then perhaps all of this--reality itself--is generated by a form of computer technology the likes that we at this level can only imagine.

Quantum physics appears to support this possibility. To do research on this issue, go to Google Search and use the following terms in a search: "Quantum Hologram" and begin reading from there. When you are done, email me and let me know what YOU think. Send your email to blogger@tpromo.com!
