sexual identity?" Perhaps it's time for all of us to do that.
Just today I was thinking about what it was like to be a kid in the 1950’s. If you asked me to define it in a single word, I’d have to say that it was:
Awesome!
I remember walking home from our small little elementary school in Waco, Ohio, anxiously ready for The Mickey Mouse Club! There also was Barnaby as well as Captain Penny, both of which were regional programs out of Cleveland.
Somewhere along the way was Popeye, who often sang, danced, and taught us good, wholesome lessons to be used throughout our lifetime. It’s nigh to impossible to sit here and recite lesson after lesson, but I know deep in my soul that those lessons are there, springing up in the form of a small voice inside my heart that tells me when I’m right and when I’m wrong.
One of the things that Popeye taught us was based on a saying he used--time after time, in fact:
I ‘Yam What I ‘Yam!
Let me interpret what Popeye was saying in common, everyday language: Popeye came from a world where “men are men and women are women.” Let me put it another way, if you were born with a kitty, you can’t be a man. If you were born with a king kong, you can’t be a woman. Men are not born in a woman’s body any more than a woman can be born in a man’s body. One last point, you can make yourself believe anything you want, but it doesn’t make it so.
Now you understand a little better about the world I come from.
And finally, to answer the question, “What Does Popeye and LGBT Have in Common?”
Nothing whatsoever!
In closing, to those who advocate the new no-sex position (or whatever you might call it), when the dust settles and the Commies in our Gov't have full control, do you believe that you'll continue to have such notoriety as you do now? Check out China, Russia, and you might begin to see what's truly staring you in the face, but you just don't know it.
